I just wanted to drop a note to say how much Lynn and I appreciated working with you in finding our first home. As you could probably tell, being first-time homebuyers, we were quite overwhelmed by all the details even though we had done our homework. You simplified the process and helped us correctly prioritize the many factors that go into buying a home. One of the many things we liked about working with you was that you always answered your phone. At times when you were busy promised to call us back and did so diligently and quickly. We never had to play the voice-mail game and we cannot over-emphasize that aspect of worth ethic. In addition to finding us a home that was pretty much exactly what we were looking for (and one we absolutely love), the house was appraised for $30,000 more than our purchase price. Prior to starting our search, Lynn and I had our reservations of retaining a buyer’s broker as we felt that the process posed an inherent conflict of interest, i.e. brokers have little incentive to negotiate hard on the purchase price as the lower the price, the lower their commission. We were pleasantly surprised when you suggested going much lower than what we wanted to offer initially.
